Evidently, LeBron James is giving up his #23 uniform out of respect for Michael Jordan.

He's supposedly switching to #6.

If he takes #6, he is showing no respect for Alfrederick Hughes and DeJuan Wheat.

He should switch to 24.5 and see what Kobe thinks.

A column I read yesterday suggested that James is changing numbers to boost his uniform sales, which are currently No. 2 to Kobe. I can believe that more than the idea he's suddenly developed so much respect for Jordan he can no longer wear his number.

I'm having trouble finding a link to show it, but Ohio State students saluted Buckeye blogger Mark Titus with 'Club Tril' shirts and inflatable sharks at senior night en route to a 73-57 romp over the Illini and at least a share of the Big Ten title. The Shark rewarded them with a trillion in his final home game. Three other Buckeyes (and one Illinus) also joined in on the trillion fun!

Good job Pittsburgh Fans. Way to show your class. USA USA!!!!!

I thought this may happen and was watching to see if it did. Sid said after he expected to be boo'ed a little. Glad to see the fans giving Miller his respect. He deserved the biggest ovation of the night.

That being said, welcomoe back Sid, glad to have you back

The sound of Vancouver during the golden moment. A webcam catches the game-winner from across the creek.

Julius Erving and Bill Russell deserve more respect than Jordan IMO.

I loved Dr. J growing up but Jordan was a better overall player than Dr. J was and won more championships.

Mr. Russell won more championships than Jordan but because of the era and the way the game was changed because of Jordan, it's a toss up IMO, although all 3 legends do deserve respect.

/ever hear a Mr. Russell interview? Love that laugh of his

So far, the Hurricanes have dealt Aaron Ward (who has been their worse player all season long) to Anaheim for a fourth rounder and goalie depth and Scott Walker (who's hurt all the time, but still sad to see him go) to Washington for a bag of heavily used pucks.

USA-Netherlands friendly today, midfielder Stuart Holden went off with a leg injury in the 30th minute. Walking, but not comfortably.

Few who were not NBA fans prior to 1956 understand how much Bill Russell changed the game. His contributions were not on the offense, but rather were on the defensive side of the game. His mobility and shot blocking ability forced players to attempt more shots from the perimeter. The resultant decrease in shooting percentage and availability of rebounds fueled the legendary Celtics' fast break. LeBron, you couldn't tie Russell's Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars.

In the words of Johnny Most, "Rebound Russell, he finds Cousy with the outlet. 2 on 1 for the C's. Cousy to Sharman. He lays it in."
