Portsmouth become the first top flight club in England to go into administration.

As someone who was born next door to Fratton Park and had to stomach his cousins obsessing over the club... As a Saints fan, all I can say is it couldn't happen to a nicer club. *chortle*

Yes, I am very much enjoying my schadenfreude.

I'm not enjoying Chester City's season, however. Docked 25 points before the start.

On a lighter note, how online media can try and improve the quality of pundits. NB: The Clive Tyldesley link within the story is NSFW.

Anyone know if it will be possible to watch today's USA-Finland hockey game on the interweb?

[moved this post to the gold medal thread a couple of notches down.]

In Canada, yes. Go to ctvolympics.ca and follow the links.

Could anyone tell me what event is involved here? Will it be televised? How is it judged? It really sounds like a fun thing to try.

nbcolympics.com had the US-Switzerland quarterfinal game on live. I would not be surprised if the CTV site tommy links to above is geo-blocked such that IP addresses in the US cannot access live video.

Of course it is. There may be other, not exactly official streams available.

myp2p.eu is usually a good place to find less official streams for many sporting events.

Is anyone watching this US-Finland game? Insane.

I am. If this were a fight, they'd stop it !

I haven't been able to watch the game, but I'm getting updates. Just a couple of questions for those that are watching?

1) Has it been confirmed that it's the Olympic men's ice hockey team that Finland sent out, or the pee-wee boy's ice hockey team?

2) Are the Finnish players wearing skates and padding, or are they completely naked and shivering on the ice?

3) Are there Russian gangsters sitting in stands directly behind the Finnish team bench? Are they smiling and nodding at the coach and players?

owl, not to ruin your day, but things took a much worse turn for Chester City today.

So naturally, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS research decided to step and make sure there were no hitches in Olympic action.

Don't let a condom problem keep you from the action.

Incredible line by Mark Morford on Tiger's apology: "Tiger wasn't apologizing to actual people, to his wife or kids or even his confused fans. Tiger was apologizing, straight up and to the bone, to capitalism itself. To his own brand. It was a scary attempt to shore up the multimillions in endorsement deals, his future as a billion-dollar icon. Tiger the man was apologizing to Tiger, Inc., mostly for tainting its earnings potential."

Tomorrow is going to be a sad day. It will be the last chance to watch curling for 4 years. I for one am going to miss the Denmark womens team.

Morford's picking up on Charlie Pierce, whose take on Tiger as a talent used as a front for "shakers and sheikhs" goes back a long way.
