Wee Man makes an appearance on court at the Lakers - Warriors game and takes some shots as the Warriors warm up for the 2nd half before the Refs boot him off.

I need video!

Feeling the heat: Olympic organizers respond to criticisms about the unsightly and symbolic fence erected around the Olympic cauldron.

The comment that mystifies me a bit is the one by John Furlong stating, "The intention wasn't to put it behind a fence." So how do then get a fenced-in cauldron???

Stephen Brunt from the Globe also has an article today in which he calls a spade a spade, legitimizing many of the criticisms of the proceedings thus far.

My family (mom/dad/sister) are at the Olympics, and they said that getting a good photo of the flame isn't a problem (they sent me one yesterday). There are many vantage points to take a photo from where there are no fences in the way. Granted, you can't exactly have your family stand in front of it, but to suggest all photos are ruined is ridiculous.

Oh I agree. Some of the criticism is deserved. And the alpine events so far have been just terrible today. Bad, bad, bad conditions. Like amateurs.

I mean, if the organizer wasn't a woman, I would punch her right in the mouth. That's bush.

And maybe think about not wearing a bra next time.

The human torch was denied a bank loan.

Team USA hockey: what's with all the Ryans?

..... the US could conceivably have a team comprised of nothing but Ryans on the ice.

Does this seem a little odd to anyone else?

Not counting Bobby [Ryan], 26% of the US squad is named Ryan. By way of contrast, approximately 0.328% of US males are named Ryan.

Team USA hockey: what's with all the Ryans?

Yeah, but do they shoot right or left?

They weren't fencing the flame in, they were fencing the rest of the world out.

I'm enjoying all the curling coverage, even if the US isn't doing so hot. Norway's Men's Curling team has awesome pants.

BI, to me when Seattle dumped George Karl like so much refuse that spelled the beginning of the end for professional basketball in the city. George was a great fit for the team and the city and I enjoyed watching his teams play. Heck, if there wasn't such a thing as Michael Jordan, Seattle may just have brought home a championship while George was there. I hope that everything goes as well as possible for him and his family.

Pretty good day for the USA, with six medalists on the day (three of them gold).
