Mark Ingram Wins Heisman: Alabama running back Mark Ingram has won the Heisman trophy, as predicted by the vote-counting site StiffArmTrophy.Com. Stanford running back Toby Gerhart finished second. It is the first Heisman ever for an Alabama player.

I could live with that, hope they're correct.

Is it true that if Ingram wins the Heisman tonight, it would be Alabama's first winner of the award?

Yes.

Why Suh should have won the Heisman.

What a nice heartfelt acceptance speech. Mark Ingram has earned this award. I don't agree with Suh finishing fourth though, he should have been higher, possibly second or third.

Congrats to Ingram and Alabama. I think this win clears some of the travesty of Bear Bryant's stream of amazing players never winning the hardware.

Which of the five finalists will have the biggest impact in the NFL? The best, long term?

I think Suh could be a force. Lions fans are already calling into radio stations advocating drafting him. God knows the defense could use him.

Yea Mark!

Yeah,

I think Suh should have won it, but it is next to impossible for a defensive guy to win it.

Ingram's a great back, but when strong arguments could be made that he isn't the best player on his own team (McClain, Cody), then I struggle a bit with him winning it.

Not to piss on Ingram's parade, but everyone of those candidates except Gerhart had an extra (conference championship) game shortly before the balloting to impress the panel. While the extra game ended up hurting Tebow and McCoy, it certainly helped to boost Suh and Ingram.
