Leaving the Logos behind: Ryan Moore gives up $300,000 a year to play the golf clubs he likes and wear the clothes he buys himself. Crafty or crazy?
It would be admirable if he dressed well, but he doesn't. He walked past me at Bethpage during the US Open and I thought some tramp and snuck in under the ropes.

I think it's admirable even if he's a slob.

To one's own self be true...kudos to Ryan...

I like it, though I think I'd take the money for the bag. He could donate the money to charity and thus put a spin on the commercialization.

Good for him! Stop these fuckers plastering their logos on every single molecule of the fucking planet.

If you're wearing clothes you choose, you have every right to dress like a slob. What excuse does John Daly have?

Poor Daly..he can't see straight when he gets dressed..much like Stevie Wonder

Alcohol. Usually.
And compared to the photo you linked, Joey, things have got so much worse of late.
I wonder how much of Palmer's decision to wear his own gear is sporting superstition.

Not everyone can have the sartorial splendor of Jesper Parnevik.

Drood, I'm with you! This is such a nonstory anyway! Does anyone really pay attention to the logos and decals plastered upon every surface imanginable at sporting events?

JJ: Egads, I had no idea things had gotten so bad for Daly. I think he has what George Carlin termed "cancer of the clothes." My heart goes out to him and his loved ones.

I can certainly understand wanting to play with the clubs that I am most comfortable with. I can "maybe understand" not wanting to look like a billboard though I dont see how a little Nike Swoosh on the cap and left breast of the shirt constitute looking like a "NASCAR driver". But for those sums of money I couldnt care less if my golf bag looked like a doodle pad for and advertising exec.
