Arr Matey! It's the pirate bowl!: Raiders vs. Buccaneers. Eyepatch vs. Winking. #1 Offense vs. #1 Defense. MVP vs. Defensive Player of the Year. Gruden vs. "That Guy Who Took Over For Him." Al Davis vs. well, everybody. Al Michaels vs. babbling John Madden. Tastes great blonde vs. less filling brunette. Who takes it? Who reigns supreme? Arr arr arr!
The Buccaneers will win the Super Bowl. It's funny that they edited the original "Let's make out" line from the end of that Miller Lite commercial, as if that were the only offensive thing in the commerical.

It's the pirate bowl! I don't know. At some point, the Raiders fans decided a Raider was not a pirate, but some sort of angel-of-death mad max apocalyptic zombie warrior.

kirk, only certain channels edited that commercial... on ESPN it still says Lets Make Out. At least late at night. I can't udnerstand why they edited it though, even on the regular channels, it's no worse than the rest, plus it's clearly a joke. Oh, yeah, the game. I like the Bucs but I like the Raiders more. Oddly enough this is the matchup I picked at the start of the year... too bad I didn't put money on it. I think Callahan is smart enough and Gannon is good enough under pressure to make good decisions, and the veteran receivers and other guys want it too much to be denied. The Bucs will get another shot but these old guys won't. Raiders by 4.

That commercial gets edited for network TV. Is there a way both teams can lose? Maybe some of those predatory eucalyptus trees can take them out.

Can someone please point me to a website where I can view this commercial you are all talking about? Up here in Canada, we only seem to get "Canadian Idol" or "ING Direct" commercials during football games. Oh, and for the record: Tampa Bay 17 Oakland 14 (last second field goal from, say, 49 yards)

Here you go Grum. I was actually researching it for a MeFi post the other day. Yeah, researching. (I believe millerlite.com has a quicktime version)

This should make for an interesting super bowl, since there are so many storylines. There are new teams playing (or in the Raider's case, first time in 20 years). The best defense versus the best offense. Crafty veterans versus a youngish team. And of course, Gruden versus Davis. I certainly hope the game itself lives up to the hype. Go Bucs! City of Tampa 24 Oakland (formerly LA formerly Oakland) 21

Let's shoot for a tie like the baseball allstar game. Just kidding. I hope it is a close nail biter. I could really care who wins as long as I see an exciting football game.

So you were researching it, then. Great job, Stan Chin!

My predictions: Oakland 31, Tampa Bay 27 MVP: Rich Gannon Less filling brunette over Tastes great blonde, because brunettes are better! LOL!
