CFL Pick ’Em, Week 4: Blowouts! Upsets! Intrigue! The entertaining anything-goes CFL is back, although maybe Toronto fans prefer the defensive eras. Make your picks inside.

Here's hoping for a better showing this week! Hamilton by 7 (Lumsden is a machine!) BC by 14 (Winnipeg has looked shaky all year) Saskatchewan by 6 (Montreal finished the game looking slow and unorganized last week against Calgary) Edmonton by 8 (This pains me as a Boatmen fan, but the Argo's are not looking good - on paper they're amazing though...)

For the second week in a row, I managed to double my point total! Stampedeers by 9 Lions by 12 Allouettes by 5 Eskimos by 8

Holy crap! I stink! Zero points? Doc, are you sure there wasn't a hanging chad or something you could recount? Next scientific method up: Average weight of players on the active roster. Heaviest team average is the pick. Calgary by 10 B.C. by 2 Saskatchewan by 11 Edmonton by 9

Okee Dokee. 2 points. Well, I guess that's better than THX. But his jokes are better so I still lose. Oh well. Calgary by 21 BC by 7 Montreal by 10 Toronto by 3

The Canadian contingent East Timor included fixed wing pilots and some Mounties, as part of the UN police. Calgary by 14. The Mounties were cool, and patrolled the streets of Dili using mountain bikes. They also organised this Halloween gathering one year, down at the helicopter club. BC by 7. I spent most of the night talking to this huge grain-fed Mountie from Alberta, who towered over me. Saskatchewan by 9. During the evening I kept getting challenged to a mountain bike race and other feats of strength. Edmonton by 18. Her name was Susan, and I think she fancied me.

THX, I did make a mistake, but it was accidentally copying the Calgary and Edmonton picks into your row. You actually picked Montreal and Toronto, so your point total was unfortunately correct. This week is tougher than it looks. Calgary by 10 - Burris at home is probably a tad too much for Hamilton's D. B.C. by 7 - It's going to be tighter than last week, but the JJ Groove is On. Montreal by 2 - What a toss-up. Edmonton by 8 - Ugh.

Thanks for the clarification, Doc. Although I don't feel much better about it. Besides, in the interest of science, I will try to be more objective about the outcome.

Lumsden is out for tomorrow's game. I'm changing my pick to Calgary by 16.

hmmm ... no Lumsden means my predictions that the Ticats might keep this one close kinda go out the window. Calgary by 11 (win and cover). Bombers are bust. Lions are just finding their legs. While it should be a romp, I'll bet that the Blue and Gold can keep it close. BC by 5 (win, no cover). Take away the stellar defensive and special teams play by Edmonton last week and you've still got one in the W column. Well, Joseph kinda made the EE D look real good. Uncontested starter or no, who calls their own plays in pro football anymore? And to be 4 and a half point faves??? The Edmonton Eskimos by 6. Ah, savin' the best for last. Getting gritty wins simply can't last forever, especially when you run into a team that seems to be able to really be able to put it together this year. Sorry Rider Nation ... 4-0 is not in the cards. Montreal gets their own gritty win by 3. Hope these picks keep me climbin' the ranks. Needed a good week last week to shake the cobwebs. Should be good to go now. Speakin' of "good to go" ... anyone hear about the Bomber Girl who is in a little hot water over some provocative pics online?

If you haven't made your picks yet, I would suggest going to my profile page and writing down my email address. SpoFi has been a little spotty this week, so if it's down when you want to post, you can email me. I realize there's an inherent futility in writing this, since if you've come here to post your picks and the site is down, you won't be able to read this message. But it makes me feel a little better, anyway.

Are we able to change our picks? I picked Hamilton by 7 because, as I said, Lumsden is a machine. And now he's out this week. If possible, can I change that game to Calgary by 7?

Yep, you're allowed to change your pick for any game as often as you want. The last pick you posted for a given game before that game's kickoff is your official pick for that game.

I have one question that is vital to my pick in the Hamilton v Calgary contest. How much does Lumsden's replacement weigh? And Spitztengle, bless you for that.

Alright - considering I've got a few hours left until the deadline, and considering the change of Hamilton lineup and the absence of Lumsden, I'm revising this weeks picks. Ad I'll be super pissed if I was right the first time! Calgary by 6 BC by 14 Saskatchewan by 6 Toronto by 5 I changed my pick from Edmonton to Toronto. I'll be at the game, and I've gotta want them to win it! Plus Chris Hardy will be back, so Argo Special Teams will have their captian back and hopefully not suck so much this week!

It looks like all our concerns about the CFL becoming too predictable and too defensive are no longer. Two more upsets and two more blowouts (not necessarily mutually exclusive) keep everyone entertained. Well, everyone outside of Toronto and Winnipeg, anyway.
