woah, woah, I thought along with the new uniforms that the home teams cheerleaders were taking over officiating.
posted by steelcityguy at 12:57 PM on August 04, 2006
Perhaps, an incentive could be offered for better officiating. Along with the new uniforms, comes a new rule. Whenever a ref makes a bad call, which will be judged by a panel of average veiwers, that ref removes one peice of clothing. The incentive therefore, if you make good calls, you will not be naked in front of the veiwing public.

Some people just do not get sarcasm. Kind of like Barry Sanders in that one episode of 90210 where he had no idea what Brenda was talking about.

No, I am pretty sure that I am talking about Barry.

I agree that Barry should have stayed at least two more years, but if he wants to play baseball thats up to him. I am just mad that he is playing outfield for Kansas City. I wish he was somewhere that he could have a chance at a ring. What a total waste of talent.

I would pay to watch people walk by and see who goes for the big kick. If you walk down the street, see a ball TIED to a pole, with a sign that says CAN YOU KICK ME, and you do it....maybe you should be tied to the pole with a sign that just says KICK ME

Just horrible. I have had a good bit of time to think this over now. Obviously, whole city is distraught. But the fact of the matter is Ben does not owe me anything or anyone else on this site. He did nothing illegal and its not like he is popping wheelies in a parking lot (Winslow). If there is a clause in his contract (which i am sure is coming) and then he rides or rides without a helmet then get on him. Not when the man is in the freaken hospital.

After reading some of the angry nasty remarks here I'm glad now that I watched the Puppy Bowl instead. Scheeeeesh, it's just a game. Absolutly not, not just game. You do not have any idea of what happens when a team brings back a title to a town. Im 23, I wasnt around for the first 4. Ive sat here for the last 5 min. trying to think of how to explain of what this city feels like to walk around in last night and today. The biggest thing, which some people dont understand is what happens to the citys economy. Everyone here is living it up and enjoying life. It doesnt happen often. I regress, but it is not just a game.

My favorite memory of Mario was during the cup against the North Stars when he was coming in all alone, I mean, there were 2 defenders and the goalie, but he made it look like he was all alone. Through both of there legs. Past the goalie. I think it was the last game. Anyways, just beautiful.

I wouldnt say people get so emotional, its the fact that you root for someone for that long, you want to see his career end well. I wouldnt wish anyone to have that memory as thier last nfl play.

Yes, he will be the first and youngest QB ever to lose 2 AFC championship games in his first 2 seasons! good one groinr I almost cried when Bettis fumbled that ball. Ben made the tackle of the game. I didnt want Jeromes last nfl carry to be that. I feel confident about next week and feel that we can get to Jake Plummer. And the winner for the number one steelers fan this weekend is.... Nick Harpers wife

As for Palmer, you cant help but think back to Thiesman when stuff like this happens. Obviously, its not that serious, but you hate to see a young great talent get hurt like that. I think for sure he will be back, I just hope it doesnt become an every year problem for him.

A loss and...well... 4th and goal on the 3...the play call is still agrued about to this day. Long story short, we didnt make it. I felt bad for carson, and I expected to here everyone say that it would have been different if he was in there, which is a major reason why I didnt want to see him go. However, i cant beleive the absolute garbage that i have heard about it being a cheap play. Did some of you not watch it? Kimo was doing what he could to get to carson, that is what he's paid to do, correct? Unfortunatly, this kind of stuff happens in football, players get injured.

I played football in high school and college and i would be the first to tell you that any soccer player can run up and down a field longer then me. In the same respect, if most soccer players (im not talking about kickers) played a game of football, theres a good chance they are leaving on a stretcher. You can put any spin on how sad it is that football players cant run as far, what it comes down to is every sports different and you train differently for each.
