im with everybody else here that said that this was nothing more than a hissy fit by a little girl. i didnt see any slapping, hitting, or anything else by the guy other than to get his daughter under control. of course she doesnt want him to grab her, most kids dont when they are throwing a tantrum. only thing he did wrong was to have this episode get on film, and even then i saw the youtube version and didnt see any slap.( and yes i watch it more than once to be sure)

im from indy and all i can say is thank you L.B.. its about time. im not sure what games you have been watching ying yang, but, it wouldnt matter who we got for jackson, we be the better team for it. he is one of the most inconsistent, lazy, and irresponsible players that i have ever seen play for the pacers.(and im a fan win or lose for over 35 years) as far as big al, well, we missed him after the first trade off, we shouldnt this time. all be it, he is putting up decent numbers, but, thats not really saying much considering the rest of the team really couldnt hit the broad side of a barn. in all it was a good thing (the trade), but i really dont see either team making the play-offs, or should even consider a championship, for at least a couple more years of good draft picks to go with what they have.

maybe the personality conflicts came from the rocket himself. he was a better pitcher then than now, if he could get them to the series then, how is he going to now, especially now that he has gotten older and slower

if mlb teams are smart enough to take advantage of a players contract staus, then more power to them. its the players that are going to have to get smarter with their contracts to keep this from happening. that is of course if they dont like being bounced from one club to the next

Or maybe it's just that as a Cards fan I've seen more of him im a cards fan as well, and i really didnt like seeing them in their prime or neven now for that matter

hell no they should not have traded him!!! houston has put alot of time and money into having him on their squad. at one point in time he was begging to leave boston, why would he want to go back if he hated it that much. it just goes to show how much character the man has, all he wants is a ring. big deal. a ring is not going to keep him out of the hall. dont get me wrong, he is(or was) a great pitcher, but, he has to show some class in sticking with his team, whether they are winning or losing

cant anyone just agree that ortiz is just one of the games better hitters. period. end of story. he is no better than say, pujols, arod(when his head is not in his ass), manny, thome, and the list goes on and on. he just happens to be very consistent. if everyone remember, mcguire was the same way when he was with the cards. he to had a very good hitter behind him so pitchers would have to throw to him. and as any good hitter will do, they take advantage of the situation.

to 1651 maismith: the toucan sam you refered to at miami is actually called an "ibis". its a local seabird that original inhabitants to the area would always watch for. if the birds disappeared and went inland then the locals knew a hurricane was immanent.

joey has potential- plain and simple. unfortuneately he has been surrounded by mediocre coaching, unpredictable o-line, disfunctional upper management, and finally no reliable backfeild or receivers. given the right surroundings, he could very well have a decent shot at being a very good backup somewhere in the league with the possibility of maybe taking over the starting role. everyone can take there cheap shots at him if they want, but he is still possibly one of the better q-b's in the league if only given a chance

only starting lineup T.O. should be on is top bagger at the local supermarket. he spews discontent every where he goes. Although if he did go to the raiders it would be interesting to see if him or Moss would be the first one to cry to al davis because he wasnt getting all the attention. ( interesting note: most 3rd graders are the same way)

if anything the saints should have paid all that big money for eli manning. at least that way when they have a losing record people will still fill the stands if for no other reason than to pay homage to archie

two big idots.. brees and the phins. 1.) brees is going to get slaughtered when he lines up for the saints. he might as consider his career shortened by three to four years. hell have no o-line to protect him, and defenses are getting to fast for him to scramble constently. 2.)phins picked up a shacky at best QB. in my opinion no true talent, with questionable background.didnt they learn anything from the williams fiasco!! now they dont have anybody in the backfield, no running back worth anything or a quality QB to possibly get them down the field. their receivers are going to get tired of running down the field, turning around and never getting the ball.

who honestly cares about either of the teams.yes they are consistently top raked teams. yes they are both basketball icons with the players they produce, but , seriously, its only one game!! the media is putting to much into it. its not for the national championship yet is it?

Colts Release Marvin Harrison
I live in Indy, and I can say right now that him leaving wont be that big a deal. Its true, he always shyed away from hits. the colts will still have wayne, clark, and gonzales for receivers, plus knowing how how polian drafts, he will get another wideout for manning to throw to. the biggest problem the colts will have is resigning jeff saturday( the pro bowl center). manning tends to use the shotgun more often without him shoring up the middle of the line, and that is what he needs the most, pass protection. the only real tragedy is that a potential hall of fame player wont again be able to stay on the same team his whole career. but then again, thats how the nfl works nowadays.
