How bad are the Bengals?: "Hamilton County's three commissioners want to know if the Bengals' failure to field a competitive team violates the lease. The commissioners unanimously voted Wednesday to ask county prosecutor Michael Allen for a legal opinion on the subject." The Ickey Shuffle. So long ago.
"In Cincinnati, you're seeing the consequences of the socialist system. Why work? You're going to get paid anyway." Boomer, I miss you.

Even though I support the Bengals, they are a great advertisement for promotion/relegation. The threat of playing at a lower level might be the sort of kick up the arse the management needs. (Yes I know that pro/rel is completely unfeasable for the NFL.) As an aside, an analyst for Channel Five in the UK said last week, "Next week the Bengals have a bye, where they are six point underdogs." It made me laugh out loud.

Well, the lack of competitiveness violates the fact that they call themselves a professional football team. Why not violate the lease too?
