Twins win! Twins win!: Bud Selig must be having ulcers right about now. The Twins hold off a rally by the Oakland A's in the ninth to advance to the ALCS.

obviously. selig wouldn't know about building teams with youth, low payroll, and organizational wide goals on fundamentals Exhibit A - The Milwaukee Brewers.

It was called the "Abberation Bowl" by some pundits because the Twins and A's success in the early part of the season was called an "abberation" by Selig. I'm getting a very big "Major League" vibe from the Twins. "They're going to get rid of us next year, so I guess the only thing we can do is win the whole fucking thing."

I wonder if Selig will come to the Metrodome for the ALCS? I'm sure he'd be welcomed. Twins utility player Denny Hocking might be out for the season. "During the celebration of the first divisional series championship of his seven-year big-league career, a teammate's spikes landed on Hocking's right hand, slashing his middle finger and probably ending his season." - link

Hopefully with Selig et. al. now out of the day-to-day operations of the Brewer ballclub, they might actually have a chance at a season where they break even. I'm not even saying a winning season, mind you... just don't lose 100+ games, for chrissake. You're killing the ten fans you have left!

Back to the subject at hand, though (no pun intended) -- what's the deal with Denny Hocking's hand slashing? Intentional? He was "feuding" with the teammate who did it... ooh, the melodrama...

Hocking was the team spokesman during the labor talks. Maybe that had something to do with it. I'm sure the media will discover who did it.

ESPN is reporting that it was Jacque Jones that stepped on his hand, but Jacque wasn't so sure. "If Denny says I stepped on his hand, I stepped on his hand," Jones said.

it was a no win situation as far as selig is concerned. both the a's and the twins are an example of low payroll teams performing well. double bonus for the twins winning, obviously. selig wouldn't know about building teams with youth, low payroll, and organizational wide goals on fundamentals. eliminating the twins won't make the brewers win, people won't watch losers. it's a shame to see the a's go down three years in a row like that but the starting pitching can't pitch nine innings a game with a three man rotation. and the a's bullpen has shown weakness before. koch reminds this met fan of benitez.
