Lost in Texas: Houston Texans release David Carr and Resign Ron Dayne? Say it aint so...
Poor Matt Schaub. He'd better start taping his knees up now. I still believe David Carr is a good QB, and this will be shown eventually. But he's not a good qb when he gets sacked all day long. He may want to give up the career for his physical health alone.

Carr needs a change of scenery. I think he'll do well if given protection and a multi-tooled offense to work with, and the Texans never offered him that. The pressure he was facing down here last season from the home fans was unfair and incredibly heavy. Regardless of how the Texans retool this offseason, I think David needed a change to even have a chance to thrive. I've got high hopes for the new guy. We're not the only team out there that was trying to land him. Hopefully the front office can give him more of a chance than they ever gave Carr.

The Texans passed over a franchise QB (Young) and a franchise RB (Bush) because they had David Carr and Domanick Davis (Williams). One year later, they have cut both of them. It is so amazingly incompetent. This is not one of those hindsight is 20-20 situations. Everyone knew that Davis (Williams) was injury-prone and were really doubtful that Carr was the answer. Instead, they spent their draft pick on Mario Willliams and his 4.5 sacks for the season. And, now they have added Atlanta's back up as their starting QB and a 30-year old RB who hasn't played a complete season since 2003.

I agree with brain. However, the good quarterbacks are the players who can make things happen with only few weapons. Tom Brady comes to mind as he seems to make the players around him better while working with what may not be the top talent.

Let's not forget who the Texans starting QB will be next year....who the hell is Matt Schaub? I think the jury's still out on Dayne. He's had injuries and has been too inconsistent to be judged fairly. He rushed for 429 yards and 5 touchdowns in December. I'll be interested to see how, or if, he progresses.
