JD may want to tone it down just a little. Seeing as he is no longer an exempt player and gets into tournaments ONLY by the charity of 'sponser's exemptions', a directive from the commish that 'there will be no more John Daly' is all it would take to make him go away forever. I doubt many sponsers who are putting up millions in prize money for what is in effect advertising, self-promotion and association with a 'gentleman's game' perceived of a higher earning, disposable income crowd, would be too disappointed if the carnival side-show act was not around.

The Mavs are in a terrible position. They have no draft picks (all traded), a team with almost all players over 30 yrs old and a payroll about 50% over the salary cap. They can't trade for talent because that means also taking on the 'contracts' that team needs to get away from as well and high priced free agents just add to the problem. Additionally, they have no player willing to slash to the basket, no inside scoring prescense and a point guard that can't shoot and is too old to guard any other Western Conference point guard. Good luck with all of that.

This is afterall the Dallas, TX that last month it was discovered, had a local strip club with a 12 yr old stripping and a 13 yr old prostituting while being pimped out by her 13 yr old girl friend from school. I didn't catch if it was the liquor or sexually-oriented-business license that had expired at said club. That along with the fact Dallas is one of the top three strip club cities in the good ole USA, what trouble could pacman get into there?

Nothing comes close or ever will to Byron Nelson's 11 wins in a row and 18 in a single season. By the way, an actual individual record rather than team sport environment.

right or wrong, it has always been Don Nelson's style to play the combination of players that he feels is best getting the job done on any given night.

It's been and continues to be an amazing season in the NBA. With Boston and Detroit establishing themselves as the class of the East, take a look at the Western conference where literally a handful of games in the L column separate a first round home-court advantage and not even being in the playoffs. This is the best late REGULAR season that I can remember and with so many teams living and dying on every night's results, could it be that it can and actually WILL get better in April. Maybe, just maybe, the NFL ain't the only game around.

I think the destruction of the tapes goes along with the NFL desire to keep total control of the magnificent PR machine that exists within itself. The spygate is just an unneeded opening of the can of worms that may expose each and every teams' self enhancing tactics, such as Indianapolis piping in artificial crowd noise to drown out the oppositions signal calling and who knows what the other franchises are doing for 'home field' advantage. The commissioner probably acted at the request of the owners to let sleeping dogs lie rather than expose any deep rooted realities that may in any way tarnish the NFL's sparkling image.

It's been less than one year and Liverpool is just beginning to get a taste of the Tom Hicks ownership experience. Now consider the poor Texas Rangers baseball club and the torture their fans endure year after stinking Tom Hicks year.

The rule almost seems a contradiction to the ideals of the PGA tour, in such that a player who withdraws from a tournament is uneligible to win the Vardon Trophy for low stroke average over the season, it seems odd to pay players for playing only half of a 72 hole event. As the article stated, it may be unusual for a player to rise into the top five over the last 36 holes, but it would not be the least bit unusual for a player just making the cut to rise into the top 10, 15 or 20 and go from the token $9000 + check to a six figure payday. It seems the most obvious 'fair' thing to do is lower the number making the cut as suggested and make 'em play all 72.

Wasn't Oklahoma #2 when they lost to Texas Tech?

the BIG 10 has 11 teams... That is why SATAN himself created Notre Dame.

Let's put some blame where it needs to be, that being on MICHIGAN. LSU had a conference championship game to play and yet MICHIGAN came out last monday and stated they had requested permission to talk to Miles from LSU. It was MICHIGAN that 'leaked' the Miles deal to espn to be broadcast the day of the SEC championship game. It appears MICHIGAN was doing everything in it's power to undermine the LSU program and take the attention of the coaches/players off the game and onto the future of the coach. Or maybe it just is a result of the no-account BIG 10 conference not having the BALLS to play a championship game as the other 'major' BCS conferences do and not recognizing what the importance of a championship game is to a conference. The PAC 10 needs to grow a set themselves.

Pistorius makes strides
this is great from a human rights standpoint, but as we all know, olympic sports is about how much cheating you can get away with. i fear the mechanical engineers are now going to work to create a spring effect on his devices that will assure the 'ordinary' runners cannot compete.
