Final 3.: The Steelers announce a list with the final 3 candidates to replace Cowher.
I agree FonGu, I believe that Russ Grimm has the same type of mentality that coach Cowler brought to the table, and also because of his experience with the players he has an added advantage of knowing what makes the egos and personalities on this team tick. Plus, wouldn't it be nice to see a coach be brought up thru the system, paying his due's, and thus be rewarded with an oppurtunity to coach the team. It would show loyalty to your coaches and also a loyalty to there fans. the belief and foundation our fathers and grandfathers and their fathers set was to work hard be loyal and you would have an oppurtunity to move up the ladder, in Russ Grimm's case, all the way to the top.

For what it's worth, "Final 3." is a pretty useless post title for my RSS feed..

Hines Ward was on ESPN yesterday, I don't remember his exact words but all he could talk about was how Grimm made and excellent "Assistant Coach"...not exactly a ringing endorsement.

My money's on one of the defensive coordinators in the running. And although he has been with the Steelers since 2000, Grimm actually played and started his coaching career with the Redskins. He actually coached there for 2 more seasons than he has at the burgh.

I am not all that familiar with Grimm but I do think that Rivera is going to make somebody a great defensive minded coach someday soon.

I'm pulling for Russ Grimm. He was a mean SOB as a player and has the hard-nose attitude people in the 'Burgh have come to expect from their team.
