Hidden: Clarett accepts prison penalty: SpoFi's favorite former Buckeye-star-gone-bad pleads guilty and receives a 7 1/2-year sentence with release possible after 3 1/2 years. Too little, too much, or just about right?

Hopefully, it will be long enough to get him straightened out.

Exact same reaction I had, bperk. As an avid OSU fan, I was to the point of he deserves whatever he gets and put him somewhere where he stops making horrible news. But, from his one quote in the article, I have to hold out hope that he's starting to wake up and that this leads to some kind of positive turnaround when he gets out. Good luck, kid.

At least 3-1/2 years, possibly more, without having another Clarett post? That's a good thing. Don't expect any miracles to happen to the guy in prison. Yes, I do feel sorry for the "sobbing" mom and the little girl, but having the child exposed to this guy during her formative years wouldn't exactly be wholesome and enriching.

Sports rivalries aside, I hate to see someone go down the tubes like this kid did. I'd like to think that a few years from now, we'll read a feel-good story about how he's straightened up and turned his life around, but I doubt it.

Clarett had everything going for him not all that long ago. Everything lead me, and many others to believe that he would be a mega millionare sports star type guy. Its almost sad to see a guy so talented ruin his life like he did.

Maybe having all HOME GAMES will help him get his degree.

At least 3-1/2 years, possibly more, without having another Clarett post? Clarett joins prison football team. Clarett guarentees prison league title. Clarett out for season due to unnamed injury, cell mate taken in for questioning. Looking at the possibilities, I don't think this is the last of Mr. Clarett.

** Clarett guarantees OSU bowl victory from within prison walls. ** Clarett turns corner, befriends imprisoned cousin of [unnamed Bengals lineman]. ** Jamie Foxx to play Clarett in new biopic; Parcells makes directorial debut. ** Clarett implicated as "runner" in BALCO Scandal. Yeah, we'll not run out of topics anytime soon.

From the article: After the deal was announced, he looked over at his mother who was sobbing and holding his 8-week-old daughter while sitting next to his girlfriend. That's sad.
