Hidden: If it quacks like a duck...: "Foley's blood alcohol level was not disclosed, but the San Diego County Sheriffs Department said it exceeded the legal limit."

and same subject, different discussion steroid testing on Foley Prosecutors are planning to use the blood to check for steroids. Won't that set the NFL on fire, if he does test positive via this testing, but yet has not tested positive with the NFLs testing. I think it's a reach to assume "he's agressive/therefore on steroids"...I'm shocked with as liberal as California is, that they were able to get this search warrant and access to the blood for this testing based on that argument. On a seperate discussion, guess the fact that he was shot 3 times in the leg, kindof nullifies all the "he was shooting to kill" comments in the other thread. If he was, he's indeed a very bad shot.

Blood alcohol level wasn't disclosed? According to the front page of espn.com, it was .233.

"His history of aggressive and even violent contact with law enforcement indicates the possibility of more than mere alcohol involvement," wrote criminal investigator Dan Nordell in an affidavit for a search warrant. I had no idea the CI's in San Diego were experts in sports medicine as well. The judge that allowed that warrant should be banned from the bench. Too bad Johnny Cochran is now pleading in a celestial court, cause he would have shredded this idiot. More than alcohol? How about a natural reaction of someone being harrassed by someone who says he's a cop, in an unmarked car, who may or may not have flashed his badge? This is a transparent attempt to justify the outrageous behavior of an off duty cop who made a serious mistake in judgement. guess the fact that he was shot 3 times in the leg... Twice in the back of the leg, kindof nullifies all the "he was advancing threateningly at the cop" comments.

Yeah, a steroids test for everyone who is big, athletic and has run-ins with the police is mind-boggling. It definitely looks like they are trying to cover their ass and/or help the officer cover his ass.

Thank God this was posted. And way to keep the editorializing out of it. Hopefully this will end in Foley's deportation so he never offends you again.

.233 has got to be wrong. He'd be pickled. Super-hazed. Wonder-blotto. Actually - he'd be dead. That's unpossible.

Especially a guy his size. Apparently that is about 13 drinks in an hour.

Bdaddy, any time a gun is fired at a living thing you have to recognize the fact that there is a chance you are going to kill said living thing. I have heard of many cases of people dying from gun shot wounds to the leg. A person can bleed out in a very short time if hit in the femoral artery. A bullet can also ricochet off a bone and travel to other vital parts of the body. No matter how good a shot he is, he has no way of controlling a bullit after it leaves his gun. If the oficer fired the first shot that hit him in the front of the leg because he was comming tward him, the seconed and third shots should not have been fired. I am in no way saying that Foley is with out guilt in this situation, it sounds as if he was drunk and belligerent. But he did not shoot anyone. As far as I know, being an asshole is not a punishable offense in this country. If it was we would run out of Cub's fan's in a very short time.

I would imagine a blood test was administered at the hospital where he was taken to recover from his wounds.
