Actually, the MSNBC article says "critical but stable," while this one says "serious but stable."

Television images showed both doors and much of the front and rear fenders on the driver’s side of Carswell’s car, a 1994 Chevrolet sedan, were torn off and crumpled. wtf? Nothing but best wishes for Carswell.

I would have thought he drove a Ford Bronco by now. Sorry, just kidding. I hope he's alright, it sounds like it was a pretty horrific crash.
