All war planning, all the time: "while Homeland Security is important, it really can't compete with America's fourth most popular spectator sport."

Oh come on. Any foreign influence which is threatening a large regrouping deserves monitoring.

Hockey is fourth? Even with a year off? I don't believe that for one second. I agree with chicobangs. It has to be closer to sixth.

I guess I'd put it at seventh (sigh): Pro football, baseball, basketball, college football, NASCAR, college basketball, hockey.

Well, whichever it is, let's light a candle for that it's never lower in the U.S. national consciousness than it is right now.

Thx Dr John for aiming for the target - the best we can do is argue over whether hockey really is the 4th?

How do you know that it's not an Air Force hockey team?

Maybe they're planning to invade Canada?

What game is that? There is absolutely no hockey being played anywhere in North America right now - no college, no NHL, no minors. So when was this image taken? It couldn't have been live, unless EE's Russian satellite theory is bang on. Somethings going on here, people.... I can feeeeeeeel it. Yep it smells very fishy... Wait - that's just my colleague ("For the love of candy, can you PLEASE take a shower?!?).

What game is that? I'll take a stab at it... they actually are watching CNN. After all I'm sure everyone was told a CNN crew was going to be filming that day and it would look bad to have Fox news on. The only hockey footage CNN has probably ever shown is the 10 seconds of Big Bert pounding on Steve Moore. Seeing as Bert's re-instatment just happened perhaps it got mentioned on CNN. CNN natuarlly wanted to remind their viewers how brutal the game of hockey really is by replaying the video again. Moore in the middle moving out of the zone, Bertuzzi in the upper right corner. A complete guess on my part, but that is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I third camcanuck's assertion.

In other words, they had the news channel on. Not exactly a terrible thing in this location. Also, I couldn't resist.

Is it still America's fourth most popular spectator sport? If so, then the NHL's going to be alright. Even 6th behind NASCAR and Golf is a starting point for at least this year. Nice pic.
