Liverpool Put the lid down on Chelsea.: Woulda never knew they where trained

So you're smart enough to look at the webpage on my profile. Do you expect me to be worried? Look, for all I know you're a good guy who loves his sports, but Sportsfilter is for links about sports so please don't spoil the damn thing by posting bollocks about cats being toilet-trained. A link to an obscure and interesting article about Liverpool v Chelsea would have been good.

As mch as this is a distrubance to the group of many sports nuts on here its is a bit more creative than that guy a few weeks ago writing poo poo everywhere. At least this guy got our attention with a recent possible headline, I don't recommend this it did make me giggle as to the people it would have gotten....plus I support Southampton so I know my season is down the toilet.

Watched the last half of the game with Garfield. That was an amazing game. I wish all sports fans would be so fervent. Except for those clowns that ran on the field. But whatever. That game could have gone either way, and was almost tied in the 90+ minute, and personally I couldn't care less who won. Oddly enough, I was on the edge of my seat for the last 20 minutes anyway. Great game.

Bet Everton and their supporters are pulling for AC Milan (that's a deep hole for PSV to climb out of) to beat Liverpool. :) I'm with SF. I'm just glad Chelsea isn't going to win the Champions League too.

Three things: 1) That was never a goal. 2) Where did 6 minutes of stoppage time appear from? 3) Was the hell was up with Robben? Was he playing that badly on purpose? It sure seemed like it. Oh wait... four things. 4) The final is going to be crap.

1) That was never a goal. At least calling it a goal stopped the referee from having to award a penalty and send off Cech (he mugged Baros). I'm sure that would have changed the complexion of the game much more than a dodgy goal call would have.

Well done the Pool! There's still only one treble winner in England! As has been mentioned, the atmosphere was incredible. When Liverpool scored their goal (a goal or not is the lesser of two evils...see Trox' post above) and when the final whistle blew, I thought my TV was going to explode. Anfield was absolutely heaving and they pushed their boys on to a great result. It still baffles me how Liverpool can be so crap in the league but Rafa can get his men up for Europe. It should be a great final in Istanbul with AC Milan as long as the even-tempered, emotionally controlled Turks don't cause any trouble. HA!

I had no problem with six minutes of injury time. what would you have given without the two yahoos running on the field? 3-4 minutes seems typical and acceptable. ok. then add two minutes because of the yahoos because that did stop play for more than just one minute. that makes 5-6 minutes.

Robben sure didn't seem up to the level he played at earlier in the season but he hasn't played at the level the last couple of weeks. I saw the previous two Chelsea EPL matches plus both legs of this series and he wasn't really a big factor. Maybe lingering effects or reoccurence of the injury from last Summer, otherwise why would Joe Cole be starting ahead of him?

trox, I don't think the ref would have had to send Cech off. Terry and two other Chelsea players were behind the line of play (obviously, because there were two ready to clear it off the line). Plus, it could even have been a foul by Baros - check where his studs are when he collides with Cech. It was a 50/50 call, which led to another 50/50 call.

And the first guy who rushed the pitch... was it this guy? My initial thought was that it was the same guy who invaded the Portugal v ??? during Euro 2004 because of the way he jumped into the netting. That guy has issues.

There were five substitutions in the second half, weren't there? That's two and a half minutes - and the yahoos disrupted for at least that long (if not longer). Despite being a life-long Liverpool fan, I had no problem with the time added on (my fingernails weren't happy, but you can't have everything).

afx237vi, yes, "Jimmy Jump" is basically 2 guys who do this stuff. There was a story about them on soccernet.com yesterday but it's not there today and not in the archives. A bit odd it's disappeared. Apparently they're Barca supporters and there's usually a Barca flag included in their act. While the one idiot was jumping into the net the other one was throwing the flag in the face of Mourinho, who of course was translator and Asst. Coach to Bobby Robson at Barcelona once upon a time. Hmmmm...throwing a flag at HoZe...maybe they're not bad guys after all.

afx, you wouldn't have known it by the gasp and heads in the hands reactions of the Chelsea fans in the bar. They thought for sure it was a penalty.

Oh it was definitely a penalty and at LEAST a yellow card... That should be the way it is anyway. If a defender or a keeper gives up a penalty, i think a yellow card will suffice.

As for the goal, according to the computer simulation it wasn't actually a goal. Still, at least Chelsea won't be winning everything this year, which will delay the development of my enmity for them for another season.

Oh...and the "Ho" was used as a pun...as in I think he's a ho, whore, prostitute...whatever. "Jo" doesn't have quite the same effect. For what's it's worth, I actually do know the letter J is not silent in Portuguese as it is in Spanish. Just ask Jorge Costa...
