NHL Cancels Draft Because of Lockout: The future of the NHL is in trouble. After all of the meetings, after all of the hours of talks, nothing has been done. Not only is the integrity of the NHL in trouble, but the NHL as a hockey league is in trouble.
Dicks. They're really running the sport into the ground. Hard-core fans have had to resign themselves to thinking about prospects, and now they've even screwed that up. When you've alienated even the most serious fans, your sport is in big, big trouble.

Technically, they didn't cancel the draft. They postponed it. All that means is that Ottawa has to free up a bunch of hotel rooms. We saw the same sort of no-deadline time management by the NHL in February.

This is really fucking bad. We're all watching our favourite league die in front of our eyes.

Right now draft eligibles must be wondering if they even WANT to enter the Bettman-Goodenow arena.

Oh, Jebus. They really are committed to absolutely wiping the league out as it exists today. They're going all Pol Pot on the muthafucka.

you know extra sucks - the thought of the "gotta crack the states by addressing the complaints that it is hard to follow on TV" mindset that would suggest that turning the ice blue, the blue line orange and the red line blue is the way to go. sheesh.
