Ken Venturi finally retires.: This is the last week of the love fest for departing CBS golf announcer Ken Venturi. This sounds like a great thing, but every year he seems to be retiring, only to come back. So don't be shocked to see him back. The only thing notable to come from Mr. Venturi, 71, recently was his drunk driving arrest last year. He used the cliched, but still hilarious line, "don't you know who I am." Lanny Wadkins will take his place in the booth. What do you think about that?

I guess I should be sad, but like you said, it ain't the first time ol' Kenny's waved the white flag. I used to respect his plain-talking ways. But for the last several years he only speaks in cliches (most of his own making). I just wish he'd take Steve Melnyk with him into retirement.

The best part about that "Don't you know who I am?" thing is that I have no idea who Ken Venturi is.

Yes Melnyk is horrible. For that matter ABC whole production stinks, aside from Mike Tirico.

Ken Venturi won the US Open. As an amateur. Eight million years ago. Now you know who he is.
