Maurice Clarett was knocked out of the NFL draft by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that the NFL was likely to succeed in arguing that college underclassmen should not be allowed to turn pro.
This is going to be an eventful week for Maurice and Mike Williams. How it'll end up, I have no clue. The supplemental draft sounds weird to me as well. That Dillon trade is great for the Pats. They get a great RB for next to nothing. Yeah, he's the disgruntled type, but that just means he'll fit right in... In other NFL news, Ty "We All Got To Eat" Law was arrested in Florida last night for failing to pull over his 2004 Rolls Royce. And once he pull over, he was only caught following a brief foot chase with the cops. Has Ty lose a step or am I missing something?

What's weird about the supplemental draft? They've been doing it for years. The last pick I remember was Jimmy Johnson taking Steve Walsh, an odd choice when he already had Troy Aikman.

rcade, wouldn't this be a special supplemental draft in addition to the normal one? I was under the impression that it would be, but I've been wrong before.

Here's one of the bullet points from rcade's link: There's no glitz or glamour. There's no commissioner's podium (or commissioner). There's no jersey-holding, no green room, no TV coverage and no media session. This sounds exactly like the WNBA Draft. And I'm not even trying to be a wiseass. I caught some of it on espn last weekend, and they were all business.

Corey Dillon is still an asshat for referring to himself in the third person. As for the NFL, screw them. There's no way they can keep 18-year-olds out of the game. If an 18-year-old can go take a bullet in the Marines, he can carry a freaking football in the pros.

I'd be shocked if this didn't get overturned on appeal, but it'll be interesting to see how the NFL handles this -- the "supplemental draft" idea sounds weird to me. But this and the Corey Dillon trade mean I've gotta re-work my draft pool.
