Callahan tries to clarify 'dumbest' remark.: What did you mean, Bill, stupidest? It doesn't take a brain surgeon, or even a middle linebacker, to know that the Raiders will fire Callahan after the season.

It's like he went to the press conference thinking - "I could just abandon the franchise." That was really just confirming what everyone's thinking.

Less than one year ago this team was in the Super Bowl. Really amazing how far they've fallen. Rice and Brown and those guys sure got old in one off-season.

The focus of this controversy should be the team, not Callahan. Any Raiders player who takes offense at the truth should spend the rest of the season hanging out with Keyshawn Johnson.

While his players agree they have been beating themselves, they didn't appreciate being called dumb. Well, there's only one way to fix that one...play better. I think more coaches should call out their players when they're playing this bad. If these professional athletes can't take criticism from the man hired to lead them through the season, then they should hang it up.

Raiders are making dumb mistakes (see poster boy Phillip Buchanon) and getting paid to live large, so fuck'em! They are on track to surpass last season's league leading penalty total. Age, getting away from the dumb for a minute, is also playing a part in an onslaught of injuries: Gannon, Romo, Trace Armstrong, Rod Woodson, John Parella are all on IR. Just suck it up, baby!

I agree with the comments about the Raider players, but Callahan is not a good coach. He got to the Super Bowl on Gannon's decisions and Gruden's defense. There is no way he will be able to recover from this season, especially now, after calling out the team six or seven games too late. Just quit, baby!

Speaking as a Bills fan, I hope the Raiders do fire him. I'd love to see him on the sideline in Orchard Park.

I thought the Jaguars were the dumbest team in football. Remember? The axe?

I'm still trying to figure out how the Raiders are offended by this. They obviously ARE the stupidest team in football, which is borne out by the numbers of penalties they take, the nature of the infractions and their complete inability to control themselves on and off the field. Callahan should get a fucking medal for telling the truth.
