Remember when the Colts D couldn't stop the Jags offense and the Packers O could barely score at Lambeau in the cold against the Niners?

Doesn't matter. The coordinators of those units are now becoming head coaches.

The NFL rumor mills got Byron Leftwich hired in Jacksonville and New Orleans. Good for him

Cool. Take the Saints roster and throw in 4 or 5 of the Jag's best players and he's got a decent chance of making the playoffs.

The Saints are $74 million over the cap and don't have a franchise quarterback.

The Jaguars are $59 million under and likely do have one.

If I was Leftwich I'd much prefer Jacksonville as long as I could bring a GM with me.

The Jaguars also have draft position they can use or deal.

Quick question: if several head coaching candidates that were contacted by the Jags front office declined to interview for the job as long as Baalke was still the GM, how often did their responses get past Baalke's desk and on up to Khan?

The further aspect of Black coaches not getting ample opportunities to be head coaches is that these coaches end up taking jobs with undesirable ownership - because the chances of being honestly considered for any HC job are slim. Brian Flores would have loved to have worked for someone better than Stephen Ross.

Not that long ago, Shad Khan was considered a bright prospect among NFL owners. His stock has since slid into near undesirability. Not because he's a pox humana like Dan Snyder, but because he's made some really clueless decisions.

Otherwise known as "Mike Brown-ism."

I'm fully rooting for Mike's redemption on Sunday. It would be insane if the Bengals could get it done.

Since I don't have a real rooting interest for this weekend's slate of games, I'm manufacturing something: I'm rooting for the Bengals to finally get over the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

It looks like the majority of the country has stepped onto the Joe Burrow-driven Bengals bandwagon. There's only 2 possible outcomes: (i) I get to share my joy in the Bengals finally winning the Super Bowl with millions of Americans; or (ii) millions of Americans get a small taste of the excruciating pain that is Bengals fanhood. Either way, I'm in good company. Who Dey!?
