There's a NASCAR race airing right now on Fox being held on a dirt track. I don't think I've ever seen that before. It's glorious.

My candidate for the weirdest trade of this NBA season is Gary Trent, Jr. trade from Portland to Toronto. Trent Jr. was 41 games into his 3rd season, averaging 10 ppg, when he was traded. In 1998, Gary Trent, Sr. was 41 games into his 3rd NBA season with Portland, averaging 10 ppg, when he was traded -- yes, to Toronto, and yes, they are father and son. My thanks to my friend and cousin Chris Thurber of Digby, Nova Scotia, for sharing this.

Houston Cougars make the Final Four for the first time since 1984.
Only three coaches from the 1984 tournament are still coaching: Boeheim, Krzyzewski, and Calhoun.
The first two are still coaching at the same school.

Current Georgia state politics notwithstanding, if you liked sports and were living in your car, you could do a lot worse than head to Augusta National for the Masters.
Membership at the club is highly exclusive and the place is stuffy, but during the tournament, some parking is free, a one day ticket is a little more than $100.00 (a 2019 Patriots ticket was over $500.00), and they're practically giving the food away.
