NC State men's basketball is back to playing in legendary Reynolds Coliseum for the time being and the traditional chant of, "AW HELL NO!" can be heard again.

The Jerry Jeudy Wildcat Experience could be entertaining.

Also, Cardale Jones is available

I assume if it wasn't for Covid restrictions, they could bring Kaepernick in.

Hot times in F1. Looks like good work by the crash crews.

Howard, that car was sliced in half! Another great drive by Lewis, though it took 90 minutes for the restart after the crash.

The F1 race in Bahrain was very unusual.

  • A big fiery crash on lap 1 red flags (stops) the race. Many commented they had not seen a crash this fiery in 10+ years. The fact that Grosjean ended up on the other side of the guardrail and was able to get himself out of the car while on fire is a miracle. Even though Grosjean has relatively minor injuries, mostly burns. He will probably not race in the final 2 races of the season. Also because he does not have a contract for next year, this will likely have been his last F1 race.
  • On the restart, another car ends upside-down and brings out the safety car.
  • A marshall ran across the track in front of an F1 car.
  • The tire situation meant most drivers had to stop twice, in addition to the red flag. This made it very tough to follow who was on what strategy.
  • Perez, who spent most of the race in 3rd, had a mechanical failure with 3 laps left, to give 3rd place Albon. Perez does not have a seat/contract for next season and one of the rumors of who he could unseat is Albon. This also meant the race finished under a yellow flag/safety car.

Back in my younger, drunker, stupider days, when my marginal propensity to consume was much greater than now, I followed F1, SCCA, and NASCAR quite closely. The time frame would have been late 1950s to about 1973. I married in 1972 and moved to Japan in '73, and that's when my interest began to wane. NASCAR is the only one I keep up with now, but perhaps F1 will be worth looking at. There's plenty of racing available on the telly.

At least in F1 the drivers have to do more than push the accelerator and turn left ;)

Seriously, though, prof, good points but you left out that the red flag delay was so long even with an extended stop time viewers who recorded the race missed about the last 25 laps.

billsaysthis, I use the ESPN Roku app, so get the full race, but find it tough to navigate app without catching a spoiler. I knew Perez had engine problems before the race started :(
