Between Lou Brock and Bob Gibson it's been a tough few weeks for old-school Cards fans.

Cam Newton tests positive for Covid-19. The Chiefs have some positive test results as well, so the NFL is looking to move their game back to Monday or Tuesday

It's been a tough time for old Dodger fans too. Ron Perranoski passed away - he is the third Dodger to depart in recent weeks. I remember watching him pitch. That guy was money.
There was a period of time when a number of stellar relievers had better stats and won loss records than some established starters did, and Perranoski was one of those guys.

A Trump supporter assaulted someone at the Denton Buc-ees gas station Saturday afternoon. Video shows a violent sucker punch without provocation, but former ESPN Radio host Tony Bruno had this reaction. On Twitter it isn't easy to stand out as a shitty human being, but Bruno managed it here. I didn't know he'd fallen so far.

Very sad that people have somehow been motivated to react this way. What gratification does anyone get from this type of act? As for Bruno have no idea who he is but didn't help his situation at all with those posts.

RIP the great Bob Gibson, fierce and admired mound master of my youth.
He commanded the 1967 World Series. In Red Sox country, we watched him impose his will on Game 7 with a sense of wonderment mixed with the numbing realization of the inevitability of doom.
Check out Gibson staring in from the mound from the looming shadows under the majestic bill of his cap, then have a look at Dave Stewart doing the same in the 1989 World Series. Their smoldering eyes are twin exhibits in the Museum of Purpose.
