The San Diego Padres are changing their uniforms and logos, adopting new blue and sand colors that wipe out any vestiges of their infamous brown and mustard period.

ahh, those old brown and mustards ones might just have been so bad they are good. or maybe they are so bad they went past good and back to bad. the new ones don't seem to have any special flair. they look like a clean design. fair enough.

Why do I suddenly feel so short.

They've been so bad for the past few years that maybe they should start wearing those camo uniforms all the time. It'd give them an edge if the opposing batters couldn't see where the outfielders were positioned.

BOOOOOO!! 1978 was such a great year for uniforms. They should all go back to the year of the pajama!

"I like the big 'D.' I hope that stands for defense," manager Bruce Bochy said. I believe it stands for Down To Da Basement Again, Dumbass.

You can't celebrate the year of the pajama without noting the Texas Rangers' baby blue road uniforms. Gaylord Perry looked like a Garanimal in those things.

Man, those old SD unis were bad. Steve Garvey said that they made him look like a taco.

Everybody loves blue. Too bad the Padres decided to become one of the indistinguishable mass instead of retaining some distinctiveness.

Good! That uniform was hideous. Speaking of revamping uniforms and logos, Cleveland Browns are way overdue.

I do like the new color scheme, even though it looks like it was dreamed up by people who say "synergy" a lot. I remember when the Pirates were changing from their pill-box style hats to the current style. The local paper had a survey thing where you could vote for the style you preferred and give a comment. I, of course, voted for the clown hats. Hey, I was 10.

I kinda like the ugly - provided it's so ugly it moves beyond ugly and into uber-chique.

The first link makes the uniforms look like they're made of satin. I certainly hope not.
