The NHL has parity like no other sport, so I'd say yes it is that hard. Even the struggling teams can lay a 7-2 whooping on a top tier playoff bound team any night.
Canes are continuing to look good this year.

The WhalerCanes have just completed their first ever three road game sweep ever. E-V-E-R EVER! Is sweeping a three game roadie *that* hard? Apparently for this somewhat hapless franchise, yes.
