NINE! Random thoughts

  • As USA fan it was one of those moments where I uttered a 4-letter word, shut the TV off, got up from my chair, and went on with my life. Happy for Canada, but couldn't watch the celebration.
  • As a Flames fan, I miss watching Iginla play
  • The Norway broadcaster did not say a word until the goal was scored. Interesting how different cultures portrayed the moment.
  • I can only recall seeing Al Michael's call of the 'Miracle on Ice'. Be interesting to see other calls of the finish.

Iginla was the Flames. He carried that team without much support for years. Beat 2 players for the puck on that goal and lead Crosby perfectly. At least he'll be remembered for his Olympic success.

The way Edmonton is wasting Connor McDavid's career is far worse than what Iginla went through in Calgary. A complete purge of the management level is required. And very soon.

NFL Network's Mike Girardi has an interesting description of one of Tom Brady's maladies. Evidently it is a common problem with the Patriots, since it has been described in the past. This might be a problem with Robert Kraft; he was undergoing treatment for it in Florida recently.
