Just scroll down to the part labeled "Trent Dilfer". I don't understand what I just read, but that is a bad look.

scabs? Is this some sort of 'steamed hams' type of localized jargon thing? Or Dilfer just dumb

Dilfer took too many hits in an era before the protected the QB so much.

Yesterday concludes one of the strangest series in my sporting fandom. The Milwaukee Brewers, a team I have rooted for my entire life but never get to watch anymore vs the Colorado Rockies, a team I have little history with but a team that my friends and my entire city deeply care about. My affection for the teams seemed to be roughly equal. I had to watch every pitch in the series but nothing moved me. Yelich hits a bomb: no reaction. Rockies tie it to go to extra innings: I feel nothing. Days prior I was fist pumping both of their exploits at Wrigley but now I don't even leave my seat.

Then, yesterday, something happened. I proceeded through the first portion of the game as I had through the rest of the series, feeling nothing at all, but when Scott Oberg dropped the ball to balk in a run I knew I wanted the Rockies to win at least that game. Maybe if the home team wins every contest the agony of defeat won't be so bad. I watched in the rain as the Brewers celebrated on the mound and I remembered I should be happy, I had been waiting my whole life for this after all. I took a bad picture of the celebration from the stands and went home miserable.

Trent Dilfer and Bucky Dent may be related. They both have the same middle name. At least in my world.

Dilfer has reached the point where I would welcome him being replaced by motivational speaker Terrell Owens.

When I look at Dilfer and listen to the stuff he says, I envision a completely different career for him: stageside security for Ted Nugent.

"You took notes on a ... criminal conspiracy?" — The Dodgers clearly never watched The Wire.

My one and only Dilfer [non]interaction: As part of a charity auction for the Lake Tahoe School in Incline Village, NV, my father bought a round of golf for 4 at Montreaux Golf Club. The round was supposed to be for three players of the buyer's choosing (my dad, my brother, and I), and the round's donor - Dilfer - was to round out the foursome. So the round was not only at northern Nevada's premier golf course, one at which a PGA event has been played for a dozen or so years, but it was to feature a Super Bowl-winning quarterback along for the round. Not bad!

We tried to arrange the round seven or eight times, but Dilfer couldn't fit us into his schedule. We tried to arrange the round without him (the course was the highlight of the prize for all of us), but because he is the member at the private club, we couldn't get on without him. We tried to get a refund, but it was a charitable donation and Dilfer's people didn't want to give us our donation back.

Never played, he never showed, dad got stuck for about a grand. Guy can climb a wall of dicks using only his lips as far as I'm concerned.

Garnish his wages, soap him up, and send him past a diversion dam without notifying the regional irrigation district.

Do any sports announcers kill the charm of a moment through overkill more than the ones doing NFL games?

I can't enjoy Drew Brees breaking the record any more. My joy lasted 10 minutes.

Did you know that Jerome Bettis was from Detroit?

Have you seen what's happened to DDOT Bus service reliability since he left town?
