SportsFilter: The Sunday Huddle:

A place to discuss the sports stories that aren't making news, share links that aren't quite front-page material, and diagram plays on your hand. Remember to count to five Mississippi before commenting in anger.

The internet is in full meltdown with both attacking and defending Serena Williams at the US Open. I've decided I'm not going to wade into it anywhere. I will point out that the responses that include comments about her tennis attire or her physique are the hardest ones to read and then NOT respond.

NoMich, that damn hurricane looks like it's headed straight to your house. Stay safe. Looks like heading southwest is the thing to do if you have to evac.

Seems like NC has had more than its share of storm trouble these last several years.

Buy up all the paper towel so if the president comes down there to see the storm damage, there won't be any left for him to throw at people like he did in San Juan.

Yeah, our long weekend on Harkers Island is definitely out, so we're headed west to Cherokee. Hopefully Florence stays way east of the Smokys. I'm bummed to have to cancel the beach weekend 'cause we haven't been that way all year thus far.

At 0-0-1, the Browns are off to their best start since 2004.

(stole that from somewhere)

If the Packers and Bills decided to swap Kizer and Peterman straight up, would anyone here have any objections?

The Packers are two completely different teams with/without Aaron Rodgers. That Khalil Mack dude had an All Pro first half, but played a little differently when Rodgers came back into the game.

Can't stand the Packers and the Bears, but that game was fascinating to watch. It was certainly a tale of two halves. But man, all the Bears needed to seal the game was for Kyle Fuller to reel in that should-have-been interception. Because y'all know what happened next, right?

But no dice on the Victory Fridges.

Of all the beer in the world, they should be giving that stuff away to anyone who's willing to drink it, win, lose, or draw. The company has way too high an opinion of themselves and their products. It's like saying that you won't get to see the nude pictures of Roseanne Barr until you subscribe to the magazine.
