SportsFilter: The Tuesday Huddle:

A place to discuss the sports stories that aren't making news, share links that aren't quite front-page material, and diagram plays on your hand. Remember to count to five Mississippi before commenting in anger.

Has anyone seen our very own owlhouse around these parts lately? Someone didn't bad mouth anything Australian have they?

The dream World Cup match would be Sweden v Denmark. The scoreboard would read:

SWE DEN

And the leftover letters would be:

DEN MARK

Maybe Australia is just trying to work out what they did to make the Philippines so angry.

There are many anagrams for the leftover letters in NoMich

In Danish: har terning

In Swedish: hant ringer

My favorite anagram for NoMich is in the long form dialect of the tribal languages of southeast Antarctica:

beAverBoard

Crazy, I know, right?!

Last I remember seeing, owl was located in Cambodia or parts nearby.

From the ITV broadcaster before the start of penalties: "England and penalty kicks...who here feels sick?"

Norway now likely pulling for Sweden to give Maggie Thatcher's boys another beating.

I rue the day that I bought a modestly priced Samsung television solely on a value basis, as the color rendition is such that I can barely stand to look at the deep cranberry/magenta kits that have been worn by Belgium, England and the like. They look like a disturbing dessert flavor.

The yellow teams also are more vivid than roadway workers' safety vests, but that I can live with.

Why is Fox Sports still telling people Ronaldo was being a good sport to help Cavani off the pitch? It couldn't be more obvious that he was ushering him off the field to get a little more time for Portugal.

I'm assuming it's because he did so in a gentle/respectful manner, and not like this.

If it came from Fox it MUST be true.
