The NBA season just started in the most 2017 way possible.

That actually made me get up and jog away from the TV saying, "No, no, no". I was a kid during the Theismann game and didn't really see it. That was gruesome.

I saw Thiesmann live too. Even in the old TV picture quality it was stomach-churning.

Columbus Crew's new-ish owner is eyeing a move to Austin if Columbus won't pony up for a new stadium.

I didn't see the play live - Vestry meeting at church - but I have seen the replay a couple of times. Gruesome. They are saying dislocated ankle and broken tibia. Report is that the break is clean and there's no ligament or blood vessel damage. All that is good news, but he still won't be back before the playoffs, and may miss those.

If the Crew does move south, they might as well get a fresh start and change their name to the Powers.

The pro soccer stadium and amenities "dialogue" is on a particle collider pace of evolutionary acceleration compared to the more established major league US sports. The bellwether Camden Yards facility is older than MLS itself.
