Leafs season record with Carlyle as coach:

21 - 16 - 3 and battling for a playoff spot.

Leafs record after Carlyle fired:

1 - 6 and moving up the draft board.

Could Carlyle be the first coach in history to win Coach of the Year in the year he is fired?
Certainly appears he was getting the best possible out of the hand he was dealt.

Doug Marrone used his option to escape the Head Coach role in Buffalo, enabling him to take up an exciting new opportunity... as Offensive Line Coach in Jacksonville.

$4 million buys a lot of house in Jacksonville. And it's warmer there. Maybe the new Bills owner is a foot fetishist or something.

If I understand Marrone's opt out correctly, he was going to get paid 4 mil this year for doing nothing.

That kind of money could go a long way toward taking the sting out of being passed over by the 49ers in favor of Demosthenes' pupil Tomsula.

Yep, he gets the Bills' $4m for doing nothing. Or being an Offensive coach for Jacksonville. Whichever takes less work.

Fun in the sun toiling for the bumper magnate.

I hear Kahn is bringing Felix Magath in as a consultant.

The all-22 of the Morgan Burnett pick shows how wide open the field was ahead of him.

Looks like he was told to lay down.

Julius Peppers did tell him to slide. Peppers should have been thinking runback and looking for somebody to block.

I think Burnett had a good shot at the end zone and an all but certain shot at putting Green Bay in field goal range.

Peppers was prolly thinking, "HAY JUST LIKE IN CHARLOTTE I CAN TAKE THE REST OF THE GAME OFF!!!!"

The implosion of the Leafs, and the sudden struggles of the Raptors has quieted what used to be a fun task of trying to figure out how to schedule NBA/NHL home playoff games in the ACC.

(Sure, the Raptors have a LONG way to go before they miss the playoffs, but going 2-8 in the last 10 is a bit frightening.)
