Costa Rica! That was an impressive rally by the Ticos, and they had Uruguay completely flummoxed by the end of the match.

Three days and not one has gone as I'd expected, even Brazil who I expected to beat Croatia only did so with help from the ref buying Fred's dive. Uruguay without Suarez was like birthday cake without chocolate frosting--just not worth eating.

Great tournament so far. We're still waiting on our first draw.

It'll be a rough morning in England heading back from the pubs. I thought the younger team might change their fortunes. So far not so much.

I couldn't believe the stat that they put up that 7 matches into the 2010 tournament there had been 9 goals. This year: 24.

England - Italy should have been slotted as the late game. The broadcast might have helped sedate countless insomniacs.

The final quarter of England-Italy was painful to watch. England had so many great chances but could scarcely manage to put the ball on goal. It was certainly speculated beforehand, but I wonder how much of that was the players wearing down due to the humidity.
