That's a great link grum. The 20 year cutoff makes the Yankees seem worse than they are given Jeter was drafted in '92.

PENGUINS NEW GM :
Not Pierre McGuire. That was really my only concern. Welcome Jim Rutherford.

Yeah. Wow. Jim Rutherford got himself a new GM job in the NHL. Wow. Good for him.

Yeah, very cool link, grum. Although Jay Bruce is a right fielder, not left. And I didn't realize that the Reds had drafted Markakis--sigh.

I think they slotted players into positions that they at least played some time at, and Jay Bruce played 11 games in LF in his rookie season. Markakis also played in LF in his rookie season, so they could have swapped them with the same complaint.

What if MLB teams were comprised of only players they drafted (in the last 20 years)?
One noticeable mistake is that Mark Buerhle is not listed in the Chicago White Sox list (38th round, 1998).
Note: some players can be on more than one team, as they can be drafted (but unsigned) by prior teams. For an example of this, look up Mark Hendrickson, who was drafted by 6 MLB teams (and 1 NBA team).
If you plug him in, and then sum up the WAR totals, the best team would be the Los Angeles Dodgers (Konerko, Martin, Utley, Kemp, Victorino, Kershaw, Price, Goldschmidt) , and the worst would be the Toronto Blue Jays (Aaron Hill, Alex Rios).
