Glazer: Rex Ryan Told Team He's Likely Fired: New York Jets coach Rex Ryan reportedly told his team Saturday night that he's out as head coach. "Guys, word on the street is that I'm getting fired. I'm not coming back," Ryan said, according to Jay Glazer of Fox.
If he is gone, I wonder if he'd look at a college job.

Why go to a college? Unless Texas comes calling what program would be a big enough school to interest Ryan? I think he either waits to see which other teams fire their coach or takes a coordinator job in hopes of earning another shot at the top job.

Buddy told him college is for sissy boys who wear sweaters.

Since this was on the NFL's website, I'd say you could bet the ranch Ryan's gone. I don't know what to think: it would be understandable to let him go after three non-playoff seasons, but given the hand he was dealt this year, between injuries and being forced to start Geno Smith from the get-go, a firing might be considered brutal.
