Sticking with the Sox-Yankees theme, Thurman Munson tried to steal home on a failed bunt attempt. Pudge Fisk objected. It didn't end well. (Scroll down past box score).

"Tebow is a great role model and person. He'll likely be the best athlete to ever come out of Jacksonville." -- Mike DiRocco

The early line for this weekend's games makes Seattle 19.5 point favourites over Jacksonville.
I don't think it's enough.

Remember the good old days, when every player was impressing the coaches and Jacksonville had the Offensive Weapon™?
During the Jags-Dolphins pre-season game.

If Tebow is technically not from within Jax city limits as a Ponte Vedran, I'd like to throw Artis Gilmore in there as a #2 best ever behind Bullet Bob. Artis was from way the heck out Rt. 10 somewhere, not in Duval, but once you're from outside the city, what's a few extra miles?

I'm with you on The A-Train. To be recognized as a perennial All Star back when big men ruled the league trumps even a 2 sport star in my books.

With FIFA already in crisis mode over their selection of Qatar for 2022, could Fox Sports block possible plans for a Winter World Cup or even unseat Qatar as hosts altogether?

Rupert Murdoch versus Sepp Blatter. Can they sort it out UFC-style in a cage?
Because I'd pay to watch that.

Red Sox catcher Jared Saltalamacchia stole home in the Sunday night game. I don't know how many catchers have stolen home (the only reference I could find was to Reds' catcher Corky Miller), but I don't think it has happened any too often. Does anyone have any records on this? By the way, the link is to a larger story about the game, but the steal of home is described in the first part. To partly absolve the Yankees, the play was part of a double steal executed with Xander Bogaerts, and Saltalamacchia gives full, if tongue-in-cheek, credit to all involved.
