Because of Mr. B and others in this Metafilter thread, I am now a proud owner of Football Manager 2013. Beyond the tutorials, how the hell do I get my head around this thing?

'Teeny Tiny Boy Shorts Day'
rcade, you had me until I saw it was The Onion. I'm looking forward to many more days such as this. Actually, I was hoping there'd be some photos of good looking female fans in tiny little boy shorts. Call me disappointed.
On another subject, David Ortiz gently throws Ryan Dempster under a bus. This after Ortiz and A-Rod were seen jumping into a car together following one of the earlier games in the series. My advice to Mr. Ortiz would be to be careful. You are known by the company you keep, and with some PED allegations in his past, David Ortiz ought to keep well clear of A-Rod.

I love Papi, but I don't understand why he'd get in the middle of that. Maybe he really is the nicest guy and feels bad for A-Rod, but there's no winning for losing here.

Ortiz is just thankful Dempster's gutless act didn't result in the Yankees throwing at him in retaliation, something Dempster doesn't have to worry about. If Chamberlain had been on the mound following that situation it may have been a different story.

A great way would be to join MeFightClub. Like SportsFilter it's a cousin to MetaFilter, this time aimed at giving a better place for the, ahem... older, non-lolpwnd gamer to hang out.
Alternatively, there's the official Sports Interactive forums and the Reddit "footballmanagergames" subreddit. Reddit has a deserved up and down reputation, but the single-topic subReddits are routinely decent places.
Finally, if you have FM you must have Steam, and if you have Steam you could always add me.

True. Chamberlain has no problem throwing at a hitters head for no reason what so ever.
Which is why if any Yankee fan was upset about Dempster yet wasn't up in arms over Chamberlain continually throwing at Youkilis' head, they're being a hypocrite.
Fans get upset when it's their players being thrown at, not a peep when it's their players doing the throwing.

Remember when ESPN partnered with Frontline to do hard-hitting reporting on NFL concussions? Don't worry, the NFL fixed that.
