The Prince of Cambridge missed being able to see Mickelson's fairway wood run up onto the green on 17 by a mere 24 hours.

Qatar 2022 is being called a "blatant mistake" by a FIFA official.

Looking forward to the string of stories on people's pockets being lined that led to a decision that most people seem to agree made no sense from the beginning.

What, your team hasn't scored 72 goals in the second half to be promoted on goal differential? Officials in Qatar could not be reached for comment.

As a former goalkeeper for an university co-ed rec league soccer team that played 2 players down and with no substitutes, I've had a second half that have felt a LOT like that. I spent more time with my back to the field retrieving the ball from the net than I did trying to stop the shots.

Maybe. But 72 goals?

Fellas, even older fellas, tend to get testy in blowouts to the point where running up the score is strongly unadvised and often dangerous to one's well being.

These teams were complicit.

I guess where my red flag comes in is that the two winning teams tied each other previously, but in the previous games against the opposing "blowout" team, the scores were 2-0 and 3-0.

So it seems like these two teams getting blown out, who were playing relatively evenly matched opponents as in their first game in the tourney, suddenly simultaneously got 60 goals per game worse.

You guys are sooooooo cynical. One time [in NHL '96] the Blackhawks beat the Blues 27-0, with all the goals scored by Roenick in the first period.

Ha. Roenick was the classic guy who was a pretty great actual player but whose credentials in gamer hockey were unreasonably amazing. Pretty sure I had a 300 goal Roenick season at one point.
