New York Rangers Fire John Tortorella: Four days after the New York Rangers lost in the second round of the NHL playoffs, the team fired head coach John Tortorella. The American-born coach with the most career wins at 410, Tortorella was hired in 2009 and took the team to the Eastern Conference finals last year. He led the Tampa Bay Lightning to the 2004 Stanley Cup. During his time in New York, Tortorella took a courageous stand against one of the dumbest habits of sports reporters. "Ask me a question. Don't say talk about it, ask me a question," he told a reporter during a presser. "I'm not going to talk about it if it isn't a question."
That guy's tweets hurt my brain. A) who is "buddy torterella" and 2) you have a tool that fucks brains? Sweeeeeeet! And why were we supposed to Google him? To find out that he's fuckin' awesome at roller hockey, that he has a Myspace account and he's not actually Canadian?

Those were my conclusions as well, guess I don't stink at Google as badly as I was worried.

What kind of insulting comeback is "Google me"?

Once in awhile, perhaps they could show footage of Tort in a more relaxed environment.
"I don't always coach hockey, but when I do..."

guess this guy should have spent his time tweeting at NYR instead of me.
Ah yes, idiocy revealed and confirmed in 140 characters or less. Fatty, have you not yet learned not to feed the trolls and their Twitter ilk?

The thing is I wasn't even trolling, for once I was upset by someone else's total lack of decorum and their language. But it's not about me, let's get back to discussing how right I was that Tortorella's a complete jerk.

Nobody is perfect. One thign in Tortorella's favor is that he does not abide the stupid question. He might be a bit more tactful in his answers, but some of the meatheads in the NY press deserve what he gives them.
Heard there's a new craft brewery opening up in Dover, NH, soon. I think it's called 7th Settlement. Give us a review if you can get there.

They don't open until September, but it's ok: I have a perma-designated driver until November.

It's 94 gosh darn degrees today in the greater New England region and the Cup finals haven't even started yet.
I'm having restless dreams about soft ice in the corners, Dallas Stars' championship style.
If the rest of the summer stays like this, our Granite State friends are going to be SO ready for a tour of the brewery come September.
I may have to badge up and join them inside the velvet ropes.
If Mr. Roller Hockey Goodwill Ambassador were to show up, he would have to remain outside the facility, near the wastewater outflow and the holding pond.
