I see Washington owner Dan Snyder and some members of the U.S. Congress are butting heads over the team name again. And Snyder is being a douche...again.

I am far less violent and unstable while watching hockey than I once was. Perhaps it's the cost of the viewing equipment that keeps the bottles, shoes, eating utensils, or whatever else is at hand from flying towards the flat panel. I mostly confine myself to fist pounding and screaming, and these reactions happen at points that are both favorable and unfavorable to my team. However, my cats now recognize the voices of the announcers on the NBC Sports broadcasts and cower terrified in a corner of the basement until the game is over.

I wanted the Red Wings to win, but after that disallowed goal, I can't feel too bad about Chicago winning in the end. My heart is still fill of (sports) hate for Hossa, though. Something about him just annoys me.

It has been a rough year. Tigers were swept in the World Series, U-M football lost the Outback Bowl in the last minute, U-M basketball lost in the NCAA championship game, and now the Wings lose Game 7 at home. Ugh. Almost makes me appreciate the Lions never playing in any meaningful games.
