A thought that occured to me:
What do most of our recent huge off-the-field stories lately (the Baseball HOF, Lance, and Manti) have in common?
The offenders were largely fawned over by the media, thus making the media look like fools when the truth came out.
And (predicting in the Te'o case) the media is going to crucify them for it.
