Bode Miller Hits Wife in Face with Golf Drive: U.S. ski racer Bode Miller struck his wife Morgan Beck Miller near her left eye with an errant golf drive, leaving her with a gruesome facial injury that required 50 stitches. Bode's description of what happened is less than clear: "[The drive] wasn't really errant, I was trying to not hit the tree she was hiding behind, and I didn't."
Was this an accident or not? Bode Miller is not a professional golfer, and few who are not can drive a golf ball with sufficient accuracy to purposely nail someone in the head. It's never a good idea to play a shot with someone in front of you, tree or no tree. I carried a nice bruise on my thigh for 2 or 3 weeks after someone from an adjacent fairway thought he could place one across the dogleg formed where the fairway I was in bent. He apologized, said he was trying to hit the ball high, but I knew the guy, he had about a 19 handicap, was hitting a 2-iron, and really didn't have a clue. The rest of my foursome held me back before I did something really stupid. Anyway, in Bode Miller's defense, he seems to carry that good northern New Hampshire trait of engaging the brain long after beginning the action.

Sounds like a snap hook to me.
