Just got finished watching that on MLB.Com. I've never seen players flee the field faster. I love the clip of Nolan Ryan just sitting in his seat and not going anywhere.

Because Jesus couldn't hit Nolan Ryan?

Imagine how awesome that could have been if the thunder were a couple seconds later when the pitch was coming in and the batter was swinging. It could have been like watching a video game.

If you saw the lightning, it didn't hit you.
If you heard the thunder, it didn't hit you.
If you both saw the lightning and heard the thunder, it didn't hit you.
If it did hit you, you probably would not be in a position to care one way or the other.
Jesus coming? No, it was the voice of God complaining that someone had violated one of the unwritten rules of baseball.

Deciding what music I'll listen to during the Home Run Derby in order to drown out the intolerable Chris Berman. "BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK...GONE!"

Nolan was just going to sit there and wait on that thunder like it was Robin Ventura coming out of the batter's box toward the mound.

I'd have given anything if Rumsfeld had been a guest in the Bush box, and had stood up to flee so we could see the dark stains on his trousers.
Coming and going.

...and then get it in a headlock and pound on it?

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the celebrity softball game was on after the Home Run Derby. Frankly, I find it to be much more entertaining. If a team is in need of some first base help, Mike Sweeny still has it.
Bo Jackson's at bat was a bit anti-climatic though.

Thunderstruck: Denard Span claimed "That's the loudest noise I've ever heard. I thought Jesus was comin!" on his Twitter account.
