When I was a kid I was always so confused over Babe Herman's name. At the same time there was George "Babe" Herman Ruth and Babe Herman. WTF? Who was who? *This* is why we couldn't have nice things back then.

Not perfection, but full marks for efficiency as Aaron Cook 2-hits Seattle, and finishes a complete game in 81 pitches. He's done better, though. Pitching for Colorado in 2008 before a rash of injuries slowed his career, Cook shut out San Diego in just 79 pitches. Baseball can be so simple sometimes; throw strikes, keep the ball down, work quickly, and go home early.
On another note, Corky Taylor, former U of Minnesota basketball player has died at 72. While the name may not be familiar to many, he was involved in one of the ugliest incidents in college basketball history. The story of that incident and the ultimate outcome is one of ultimate redemption.
Sorry for turning this into a link dump, but both of these stories might have gone unnoticed, and both deserve a look.

Hmmm, if that video was a few seconds longer we might have seen that the ball went over the line ;)

Even if it did, wouldn't it be interference?

Love the name Joliet Slammers, no doubt in honor of the legendary correctional center.

Arizona Diamondbacks' Aaron Hill hits for second cycle in 11 days. The only other player since 1900 to do it twice in the same year was Babe Herman, who pulled it off while playing for the Brooklyn Robins in 1931.
