Fifteen years ago todayyesterday, Michael Jordan played the flu game, which I think about every time I attempt to soldier through an illness.

AC Jimbo has a European paper round up. I mention it only because of the great line, "An unexpected result for the Italians. And you can't always say that."

I gave a Bravo! to the "rather blunt" throwaway after the Danish description of the Dutch game.

Another couple goalkeeping errors like that one and we can make the "Greeks bounce Czechs in Euros" jokes.

At least it's not a blowout (yet), as much as ESPN tried to make it one, showing the score as 3-0 after Petr's blunder. I've assuming the later game is going to be yet another Russian rout of Poland. At least they've been polite visitors this time.

Albert Pujols update:

Stats for the last 30 days of play (May 12 to June 11):

28 games
126 PA
.333/.397/.630 for a 1.026 OPS
8 HR

The OPS and home run totals are pretty close to his career averages.
(7.25 HR over that time frame, and 1.027 OPS)

In summary:
Albert being Albert

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s lawyers say that his 23 hours a day in a cell are affecting his health, which may end his career. Jail officials say that it's to protect him.

Ridiculous. Our prison system is so inhumane.

Eighty seven days without exercise would not end his career. What are his attorneys smoking?

I'm starting the slow clap for those children in Kenya, expecting it to grow to a roar.

Interesting ransoming situation. /The Australian Olympic selection process has been full of this kind of stuff. We've had bad archery parents, idiot swimmers and excluded triathletes, just in the last month. Remember when it was a privilege to be picked for your country? Sigh.
