A decade ago Iverson set us straight on practice

And how many championships has Iverson-led teams won?

Ben Roethlisberger gets his college degree 9 years after leaving Miami University.
No matter how much I dislike the player, I'll always respect the decision of someone who is set for life to finish his education. Nice work, Ben.

Messi hits 50 in La Liga as Pep says adios to fans and 72 overall with a game remaining. Team may have been down a small notch this year but Lio burns bright as ever (though I'm sure he'd trade the personal records for La Liga and/or CL trophies).

The crucial Premier League relegation battle between Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers has just been delayed because there's a chicken running around on the pitch wearing a Blackburn flag.
[Your joke about Steve Kean and headless chickens goes here]

EPL promotion is worth about £88 million. What does a decent Championship side go for nowadays? We all chip in, get a loan to pay a couple of great players 10 million each for a season, get promoted and sell!

I thought you were kidding, Bismarck. Chicken on the pitch.

That chicken video is awesome.

Blackburn lost 1-0 and are duly relegated. Despite getting a fowl in the penalty area.
I'll get my coat.

And . . . the last team other than Arsenal, United or Chelsea to win a Premier League title are relegated (admittedly, for the second time since they won said title).

Claude Giroux suspended for Game 5.
I was trying to finish my hit and he kind of leaned in and I kind of hit him, my shoulder to his head.
I respect the hell out of Giroux's game, but I call bullshit. You don't finish a hit almost two seconds and three strides after a player dumps the puck in. You were frustrated Claude, and you let it get the better of you. You did something stupid, and now your team faces elimination without you.

That should pretty much put to death the ridiculous "NHL doesn't suspend stars" crap that some people have been spouting recently.

Try watching it along with music. Solomon Burke's "The Price" is a pretty good tempo match, though Youtube seems slightly slower than my CD. It may seem more graceful, though no less freaky.

Teams that have won the league title (Division 1 prior to Premier League) since Manchester City last won it in 1968, with current status in brackets:
Leeds United (14th in the Championship) * three times
Everton (currently 7th) * three times
Derby County (12th in the Championship) * twice
Liverpool (currently 9th) * ten times
Nottingham Forest (19th in the Championship) * once
Aston Villa (16th) * once

Note: That should be "Other teams..." besides Blackburn, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.
/see how I got the Rams in there?

Ben Roethlisberger gets his college degree 9 years after leaving Miami University. His degree was in education and not women's studies.
