Don't test the arm of Rick Ankiel.

I love people testing (or in this case, respecting) Rick Ankiel's arm. This was probably linked here at the time it happened, but he threw out two guys at third in one game against the Rockies back when he was with the Cardinals.

On edit: Here's the link to prior discussion of Ankiel's arm on SpoFi.

It should also be pointed out that he's hit a home run in the first game he's played in each of the last 3 seasons.

It always looks like it's going to start so well...

Not gonna lie, it's been a fun few opening weeks, but given how incredibly long the season is, I'm just gonna be happy that any worries about a hangover from the soul-crushing end of the World Series are gone and they have a handful of games in the pocket over the Angels (who will almost surely pick things up).

I was lucky enough to be at the game. An extraordinary display of discipline from Chelsea. Everyone keeps waffling on about the possession statistics but neglects to mention that Chelsea definitely set out to let Barca have the ball in certain areas of the pitch and to avoid exhausting themselves by chasing after it. Barca might have had 72% of possession, but Chelsea scored 100% of the goals, which is still the only stat that actually counts.

My friend, a lifelong Chelsea fan, was quite pleased with the result.
